Summary

You can read every guide without an account. Cookieless, self-hosted Plausible measures page views for everyone. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you allow them. Cloud Saves stores your email address and the backup files you upload. We do not sell personal information.

Analytics

  • Plausible (self-hosted at plausible.serenity-sun.space) loads on every public page. It sets no cookies and records aggregate page views, referrers, country and device type.
  • Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after you choose “Allow analytics”. They set cookies and measure visits, scrolling and clicks on this site. They cannot see activity inside the original game. You can change your choice at any time with the “Analytics preferences” button in the footer.
  • Your analytics choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under analytics-preference.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings ↗, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info ↗. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services ↗. Where the law requires it, for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before advertising cookies are used.

Cloud Saves accounts

  • When you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password if you set one, and whether the address is verified. Sign-in codes are stored hashed and expire after five minutes.
  • A secure, HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days.
  • Backup files you upload are stored privately in Cloudflare R2 and are visible only to your account. You can delete any backup from the Cloud Saves page.
  • To limit abuse we keep short-lived counters derived from a keyed hash of your email address and IP address, not the raw values.
  • Account pages do not load Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity. Daily account and backup totals are counted without a user ID, email or IP address.
  • To delete your account and all stored backups, email contact@azeroth-survivors.org from the account’s address.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, the account database and backup storage, sends verification email, and runs Turnstile bot checks on account forms. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request data to deliver and protect the site.
  • YouTube videos in articles use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player.
  • The original game at wow.aethus.pl is run by its creator, Aethus, not by this site. The save-recovery panel on our homepage opens that game in a frame only when you press its button.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can decline analytics, delete backups yourself, and ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact contact@azeroth-survivors.org. We reply within 30 days.

Changes

We update this page when the site’s data practices change and show the date of the latest revision at the top.
