What is it useful for?

SurvivorsForge manages addon files outside the game. It is useful when several manually downloaded ZIPs become difficult to keep current. The desktop launcher and website have different jobs: the launcher manages the active AddOns folder, while the website also offers browsing and browser-pack tools.

  • Install from the platform catalogue, a GitHub repository or a local ZIP.
  • Update or remove managed addons and install declared dependencies.
  • Select the correct game folder at setup; Linux and Steam Deck launcher support is experimental.

Get started after installation

Install the addon using its current repository instructions first. These steps follow the author’s documentation; check for changed commands or UI after an update.

  1. Read the author’s platform requirements and obtain the appropriate release. Back up your existing addon settings before using a manager.
  2. Select the AddOns folder of the game client you actually launch; the manager can also suggest detected folders.
  3. Review the selected addon and release, then use the manager’s install or update controls. Browser packs are a separate website workflow.

Useful tips & limitations

This is a separate desktop manager, not a Lua addon. Linux and Steam Deck launcher support is marked experimental. Its scanning claims are not an independent safety guarantee.

  • Keep manager, addon and game version numbers separate when reporting problems. No slash command opens this desktop application.

If a game update causes a problem, disable the most recently added addon and report the game version, addon version and exact error to its author.
