For a defensive Warrior start, build toward Shield Slam, its shields and the Titan capstone. The Warrior has 230 base health before race and equipment. This route spends 31 points in Protection and includes Last Stand after 25 points have been spent in Protection.

Spend the core points in order

Each new row needs five more points already spent in this tree. Follow the table from top to bottom; a repeated name means adding more ranks later. If you have fewer points, stop at the total you can afford.

What the milestones change

  • Shockwave: Shield Slam sends a nearby shockwave that also stuns.
  • Fortified: repeated Shield Slams build a shield; while a shield holds, you gain damage.
  • Last Stand: a lethal hit instead leaves 40% health, followed by a Shield Slam and shield, once every 90 seconds.
  • Titan: start with Shield Slam, raise the damage-reduction ceiling and add maximum-health damage scaling.

Those talents must be bought before they apply. A fresh Warrior starts with Cleave; do not follow a Shield Slam upgrade plan before the spell is available in your run or supplied by Titan.

Spell and equipment priorities

Once Shield Slam is available, compare its upgrade cards with health, regeneration and damage reduction. Thunder Clap and Demoralizing Shout support the defensive plan. Choose a useful offer now rather than assuming a named spell is guaranteed on the next level-up.

Before entering, use the Armory to equip permanent class gear that supports survival and cooldowns. During the run, health and damage-reduction jewellery support the talents' health and shield effects. The item reference separates those temporary picks from Armory gear.

Trauma and Bloodlust are different routes

Arms now has Trauma, which increases damage against enemies suffering your damage-over-time effects. Fury has Bloodlust, which strengthens Battle Shout and other buffs. They replace the old Improved Heroic Strike and Unbridled Wrath jobs; neither is a required part of this Protection core. Check the full Warrior talent reference before moving points between trees.

Use a known baseline

Try the plan in a zone your Warrior has unlocked, keep your Run Options recorded, and watch the boss clock. Back up before changing devices. In co-op, read the party and revive prompts rather than treating a solo defensive plan as a tested party role.

Questions

Do I need 31 points to start this Warrior build?

No. Follow the spending order up to the points you have. Titan is the 31st point in this suggested Protection route. A fresh Warrior begins with Cleave, rather than Shield Slam.

Is this the strongest Warrior build?

It is a defensive starter recommendation from the current talent descriptions. We have not measured it against other Warrior builds.
