Holdherhand's October 22 Fire Mage video centers its upgrade choices on Pyroblast. The creator narrows the spell upgrade pool, then spends most level-ups on that spell, with room for a stronger Fire Blast offer.
These notes analyze the English captions, checked on October 25, 2026. The recording is presented as a Naxxramas guide. Its exact game build, talent screen and item tooltips have not been visually verified.

When to prioritize Pyroblast
At 1:31, Holdherhand strongly favors Pyroblast upgrades. He then gives a specific exception: a purple or legendary Fire Blast upgrade is worth considering when the Pyroblast offer is gray. His advice depends on the offers in front of you, so it should not be read as a fixed card order.
Which spells the creator bans
In the 1:18 to 1:31 explanation, he names Frost Nova, Ice Armor and Blast Wave as the spells to ban. He says this leaves Fire Blast, Fireball and Pyroblast to upgrade.
That explains the purpose of his bans: concentrating the remaining upgrade choices. The captions do not establish the button to press, its cost or unlock requirements, or what happens to a spell already learned. Check the wording in your own version before applying this part of the setup. An earlier caption says “blast nova”; the later ban explanation says “blast wave.” The game menu was not available to settle that transcription discrepancy.
Jewellery effects in the opening explanation
From 0:10, the creator recommends cooldown reduction and critical-hit chance for rings. He favors critical damage and luck in the trinket discussion, and mentions flat damage or double-cast effects as alternatives.
The necklace discussion includes extra targets, critical stats and a luck option used while waiting for a preferred necklace. Several names are unclear in the captions, and the narration moves between slot labels. Match effects against the actual item tooltip instead of treating a transcribed name as an exact shopping list. These are the creator's preferences, not measured comparisons between items.
The opening refers to a talent setup on screen without describing every node and rank. This article therefore does not provide a full talent allocation. Keep permanent talent and equipment progression separate from choices within a run; see the talents and equipment reference and run-jewellery reference.
What the later commentary adds
At 9:19 in the video, Holdherhand says the run is about five and a half minutes in. He wants more critical-hit chance for more Hot Streak procs and discusses additional Pyroblast targets. The video timestamp and the in-run clock are different.
His mid-run and closing damage claims have not been checked against the game display here. They do not establish a reproducible damage target or prove that this is the strongest Mage setup. Compare the upgrade priorities with your available offers, and use the original recording for details that require its menus or footage.
Sources & scope
Checked October 25, 2026. Read the original English captions through the closing commentary and verified the original YouTube title, creator, publication date and description. The description links to the Aethus original; the exact build and gameplay environment remain unknown. Video playback remained at 0:00, so talent allocations, item tooltips, ban controls, damage figures and the outcome were not visually verified. Captions have unclear item names and an earlier blast nova/later Blast Wave discrepancy. This is an attributed analysis of the spoken explanation, not gameplay testing, a full build template or a current-best ranking. No third-party screenshots were used.
