“Too many people are playing!!!” means the game's server has hit its request limit. Your computer is not at fault. Wait a while and try once more, or use the Windows download.
The exact message
When the limit is hit, the game shows the start error “The game failed to start in this browser”, with HTTP 429 in brackets. Below it, the page adds: “Too many people are playing!!! Join our Discord or download the game for Windows!!!”
HTTP 429 is the web's standard “too many requests” status. The game page's code comment describes it as the server's daily request limit being hit.
What to do
- Stop refreshing. Each reload asks the server for the game files again.
- Wait, then try once more. The game does not show when the limit resets.
- Use the download the game for Windows link in the notice if you want to play now. Our download guide explains the archive.
- Check the game's Discord, linked in the notice, for news from the developer.
Your saved progress stays in your browser while you wait. You do not need to clear site data. If you want a copy anyway, export your save once the game opens.
If the message is different
Only the 429 error shows the busy notice. A WebGPU warning, “WebGPU found no usable graphics card” or “Fake website detected!” has a different cause. Match your message in the loading and black-screen guide. If the progress bar is still moving, the first download may simply be slow.
Why the Windows build helps
The busy notice links the Windows archive directly, so the link works while the limit is hit. The launcher's notes say the Windows build does not need WebGPU. We have not run or scanned it; download it only from wow.aethus.pl and scan it yourself.
Questions
What does “Too many people are playing” mean in Azeroth Survivors?
The game’s server returned HTTP 429: it is over its request limit. It is not a problem with your computer.
How long do I have to wait?
The game does not say. Its page describes a daily request limit. Wait, then try once instead of refreshing repeatedly.
Can I still play while the server is busy?
Yes, with the Windows download linked in the busy notice. We have not run it ourselves.
Will I lose my progress?
No. Your progress stays in your browser. You do not need to clear site data for this error.
Sources & scope
The busy notice and its trigger were read from the game page and rogue.js on 2026-10-28. We did not reach the request limit ourselves, and the game publishes no reset time. The Windows download was not run.
