Windowtismm's Human Warlock clears Normal Duskwood with Curse of Agony and Soul Fire supplying most of the damage at the inspected mid-run checkpoint. The victory unlocks Warsong Gulch and ends with 7,471,416 total damage. This is a useful recorded example for players comparing how their damage is distributed across six spells.

The recording shows Aethus's original game, v0.77.6 (7cdc75fb). The original game's menu showed v0.95.0 (3ab42ec2) when checked on 17 October 2026, so treat the numbers here as historical. Linked times refer to the video; survival times come from the game.

Duskwood Warlock Soul Fire/Agony run · Windowtismm

Normal Duskwood, original game v0.77.6 (7cdc75fb). Selected setup, spell and result screens checked on 17 October 2026.

Starting character and permanent preparation

At 0:01, Sylashar is a Human Warlock starting with Shadow Bolt and 165 health. The talent display reads 10/51, but the allocation is not visible. That limits how closely another player can reproduce the setup.

The opening equipment summary gives +60 health, +2% critical chance, +4% movement speed, +5% area, -3% cooldown, +0.7 health regeneration per second and +2% damage reduction. These bonuses are part of the starting conditions. The equipment names are not clear enough to turn them into a shopping list.

What Agony and Soul Fire contribute

At 4:17, the damage table confirms all six spells: Curse of Agony, Soul Fire, Shadow Bolt, Drain Life, Death Coil and Fear. The combat log also records learning Fear.

Damage shown at video 10:42, v0.77.6
SpellDisplayed damageDisplayed share
Curse of Agony219.1k47%
Soul Fire172.5k37%

Those two spells account for 84% of the displayed damage at 10:42. For a similar attempt, that checkpoint gives you a concrete comparison: inspect which spells are carrying your damage before deciding where another upgrade would help. The result screen does not give a verified final spell-by-spell split, so 84% should stay attached to this checkpoint.

One visible upgrade decision

The choice screen at 2:08 presents Common Shadow Bolt level 1 to 2 with -7% cooldown, Epic Soul Fire level 3 to 4 with +31% damage, and a new Uncommon Corruption. Soul Fire is already developed by this point. The cursor is over its card, although the inspected frame does not establish the click.

This is a useful decision to pause on: improve an existing damage spell, shorten the starting spell's cooldown, or add a new spell. The later six-spell roster and damage meter give context for the options, but do not recover the missing upgrade sequence. If you are planning a run, use the six-slot guide alongside your current choice screen.

What the creator says about luck

In a reply beneath the video, Windowtismm describes luck as increasing the chance of legendary upgrades from level-ups and chests. The inspected footage does not establish this character's luck value or a probability formula. There is no measured comparison here that would justify giving up a particular damage or survival upgrade for luck.

The Duskwood clear

Morbent Fel's summon dialogue appears at 21:17. The 21:22 victory screen records 17:35 survived at level 28, with 1,764 kills, 14 elites, three guardians and five bosses. It also lists 18,322 damage taken, 1,672 gold earned and 10 chests opened.

Warsong Gulch unlocks, and the rewards include Dreadmist Circlet, Dreadmist Robes and a newly obtained Dreadmist Belt. The opening map lists scheduled boss appearances at game times 3:00, 6:00, 9:00, 12:00 and 16:00; those are schedule entries, not verified kill times.

When comparing your attempt, record your starting equipment and talents as well as the spells. This run began with permanent bonuses and 10 talent points shown. Its victory demonstrates that this particular v0.77.6 setup cleared Duskwood; reproducing it exactly would still require the missing talent allocation and upgrade history.

Sources & scope
