Azeroth Survivors has 12 zones in v0.103.1. You start in Elwynn Forest. Each later zone opens when you defeat the final boss of the zone before it. A locked zone tells you what to do: “Locked · defeat [boss] in [zone]”. The zone reference has the full table; this guide is the route and how to prepare for each step.

Each class unlocks zones on its own

Zone progress belongs to the class, not to your account. The hero picker shows “Zones open” as a count out of 12 for the class you pick. The Saves screen describes your save as holding “the zones each class has opened”. So a new class starts again in Elwynn Forest, even if another class has reached Naxxramas.

Gear works the same way. The Armory says gear and looks “are kept per class”, and bosses drop pieces for your class. Clearing a zone on one class does not equip another.

The route, zone by zone

  1. Elwynn Forest (The Defias Uprising). Open from the start. Final boss: Edwin VanCleef, 52,500 base health, arrives at 16:00.
  2. Duskwood (Night of the Nightbane). Opens after you defeat Edwin VanCleef in Elwynn Forest. Final boss: Morbent Fel, 52,500 base health, arrives at 16:00.
  3. Warsong Gulch (The Burning Legion). Opens after you defeat Morbent Fel in Duskwood. Final boss: Lord Kazzak, 52,500 base health, arrives at 16:00.
  4. Un'Goro Crater (The Primal Hunt). Opens after you defeat Lord Kazzak in Warsong Gulch. Final boss: King Mosh, 52,500 base health, arrives at 16:00.
  5. Arathi Basin (The Highlands Rise). Opens after you defeat King Mosh in Un'Goro Crater. Final boss: Lord Aliden Perenolde, 54,000 base health, arrives at 18:00.
  6. Feralas (The Gates of Dire Maul). Opens after you defeat Lord Aliden Perenolde in Arathi Basin. Final boss: King Gordok, 56,250 base health, arrives at 18:00.
  7. Gurubashi Arena (The Blood God Wakes). Opens after you defeat King Gordok in Feralas. Final boss: Hakkar the Soulflayer, 57,000 base health, arrives at 18:00.
  8. Scarlet Monastery (The Crusade's Last Stand). Opens after you defeat Hakkar the Soulflayer in Gurubashi Arena. Final boss: High Inquisitor Whitemane, 57,000 base health, arrives at 18:00.
  9. Alterac Valley (The Frozen Wilds). Opens after you defeat High Inquisitor Whitemane in Scarlet Monastery. Final boss: Azuregos, 58,500 base health, arrives at 20:00.
  10. Blackrock Mountain (The Lord of Blackrock). Opens after you defeat Azuregos in Alterac Valley. Final boss: Nefarian, 60,000 base health, arrives at 20:00.
  11. Gates of Ahn'Qiraj (The Old God Stirs). Opens after you defeat Nefarian in Blackrock Mountain. Final boss: C'Thun, 55,500 base health, arrives at 20:00.
  12. Naxxramas (The Scourge Invasion). Opens after you defeat C'Thun in Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Final boss: Kel'Thuzad, 58,500 base health, arrives at 20:00.

When a final boss falls, the end screen shows “Victory!” and “New zone unlocked” with the next zone’s name. You can also choose “Keep fighting (endless)” to stay in the cleared zone.

Prepare before you move on

Final boss health ranges from 52,500 (Elwynn Forest, Duskwood, Warsong Gulch, Un'Goro Crater) to 60,000 (Nefarian in Blackrock Mountain). It does not rise with every zone. The first boss of each zone has 3,600 in Elwynn Forest and 4,600 in Naxxramas. These suggestions follow from how the game stores progress:

  • Collect gear in open zones. The Armory’s Drop Tables list what each zone drops for your class. When nothing is left, it says “nothing: open the next zone”. That is a useful signal that farming the current zone has stopped paying.
  • Spend talent points. Runs earn talent experience for the class. Check the Talents screen for unspent points before a new zone. See talents and equipment.
  • Keep difficulty at 100% while unlocking. Harder run options raise rewards up to x2, but they also make the boss harder. Raise them later to farm.
  • Pick a sturdy class for the long route. Our class tier list compares the options.

If you are stuck on a final boss

Note which boss stops you and at what time. Surviving the clock is not enough: the next zone needs the boss defeated. Look at the zone page for its five bosses, then change one thing at a time, such as gear, talents or your spell upgrades.

Questions

How do you unlock new zones in Azeroth Survivors?

Defeat the final boss of the zone before it. Elwynn Forest is open from the start; Edwin VanCleef opens Duskwood, and so on through 12 zones.

Do zone unlocks carry over to other classes?

No. The game stores the zones each class has opened, and the hero picker shows zones open for the selected class. A new class starts in Elwynn Forest.

What is the last zone?

Naxxramas. It opens after you defeat C'Thun in Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Its final boss is Kel'Thuzad.

When does the final boss arrive?

In the v0.103.1 game data, the final boss arrives at 16:00 in Elwynn Forest, Duskwood, Warsong Gulch, Un'Goro Crater; 18:00 in Arathi Basin, Feralas, Gurubashi Arena, Scarlet Monastery; 20:00 in Alterac Valley, Blackrock Mountain, Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, Naxxramas.

Is surviving until the boss timer enough to unlock the next zone?

No. The locked-zone text asks you to defeat the named boss.

Sources & scope

Zone order, bosses, health values and arrival minutes are from the original game’s v0.103.1 (671c6f5e) data. The unlock and per-class wording was read from the interface text in v0.103.1 (671c6f5e) on 20 October 2026. We did not clear every zone ourselves. Boss health is the base value before run options.
