The final hit matters as much as the party composition. A five-Druid clear alone does not meet the stated requirement.

What counts

Defeat Kel’Thuzad on Heroic III with five Druids, all talented into Tranquility. Tranquility must deliver the killing blow.

Unlock: Ancient Protector companion appearance. A companion appearance is separate from purchasing a working companion in Rewards.

The community approach

Source: DK Waiting Room · 2026-10-27. Recommendations below are preparation choices, not extra unlock conditions.

  1. Before entering, have all five players confirm Tranquility and the host’s Heroic III selection. Agree how you will coordinate movement and card selections.
  2. The community route emphasizes health, mitigation and frequent healing. Its author uses Eternal Talisman, cooldown jewelry, Archimitros’ Ring of Reckoning, Star of Mystaria and Life Giving Gem; these are recommendations, not achievement requirements.
  3. Keep the party together, control pulls and avoid overlapping several Guardian packs with a boss. The guide divides utility between Insect Swarm and Hurricane.
  4. Near Kel’Thuzad’s death, coordinate competing damage sources so Tranquility lands the final blow. Check the achievement panel after the kill.

Before copying the build

The original post does not clearly state the difficulty in its opening. The current game text supplies Heroic III. Gnome, voice chat and the listed jewelry are the author’s preparation advice. We have not reproduced the run; historical boss-health and shield estimates are not current guarantees.

After your attempt

Open Achievements to confirm completion on your save. Keep the game version, zone, difficulty, party size and final damage source with any report. A victory screenshot alone may not show every requirement.

Questions

Is this strategy tested on the latest patch?

No. The requirements were checked in v0.137.0 text; the tactics are dated community reports. See the version notes before copying them.
