Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made World of Warcraft-style survivors roguelike by Aethus. You play it in the browser at wow.aethus.pl: no account, no install. Choose one of 9 classes, enter a zone, and survive waves of enemies while your spells fire on their own. Each level-up offers cards; the zone’s fifth boss ends the run.
The current version is v0.128.0 (678382d4), checked 2026-10-29. It needs a browser with WebGPU: a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. A Windows download exists for PCs without it.
Where to play
The game runs only at wow.aethus.pl. Its launcher checks the address and refuses to start on any other site, including inside a frame on this one. Copies show “Fake website detected!”. This site is an independent guide; our Play buttons open the real page.
- Browser: a current Chrome, Edge or Safari with WebGPU. On Linux Chrome, the game page asks you to enable
chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu. - Windows: the game page links
AzerothSurvivorsWindowsNew.rar(about 755 MB). See the download guide and is it safe? - Phone or tablet: the launcher has mobile handling, but player reports are mixed. Read playing on a phone first.
If the page stays black or says it has no WebGPU, follow fix a black screen. “Too many people are playing” means the server is busy; see the busy-server message.
Start your first run
- Pick a class. The hero picker shows each class’s health, starting spell and spell pool. For a first clear, take Paladin (245 health), Hunter for range or Warrior for melee. Our tier list explains why.
- Pick a zone. A new class has Elwynn Forest open. Each later zone opens when that class beats the final boss of the one before; see zone unlocks.
- Leave Difficulty on Normal. Heroic levels open after a Normal clear; see Difficulty.
- Press Enter, or the “Enter Elwynn Forest” button.
Controls
The picker’s own hint reads: “WASD or both mouse buttons to run · 1 2 3 picks a card · R rerolls · Enter to play”. Your spells attack automatically; you move, dodge and choose upgrades. On a gamepad: Left stick moves, right stick turns the view, A jumps, bumpers and triggers zoom, Y opens stored level-ups. Rebind keys under Options → Key Bindings. The controls guide lists everything.
Level-ups and cards
Killing enemies gives experience. Each level-up pauses the fight and offers three cards, mostly new spells or upgrades to spells you have. Press 1, 2 or 3 to take one, or R to reroll. You have six spell slots, so choose which spells to grow; spell slots and upgrades explains rerolls and banishing. The Store Level-Ups option keeps level-ups behind a “Level Up!” button instead of pausing. Rings, trinkets and amulets come from caches, elites and guardians; see run jewellery.
Bosses and the end of a run
Each zone has five bosses on a timer. In Elwynn Forest they arrive at 3:00 (Hogger), 6:00 (Mother Fang), 9:00 (Rhahk'Zor), 12:00 (Mr. Smite), 16:00 (Edwin VanCleef). Beating Edwin VanCleef (52,500 base health) shows “Victory! The zone is saved.” You can then choose Keep fighting (endless). Whether you win or fall (“You have fallen”), the end screen lists bosses slain, gold earned and any new loot for your collection; Again starts another run.
What you keep between runs
- Talent points for that class, spent in three trees. See your class page, for example the Paladin talents.
- Gear dropped by bosses, upgraded with marks in the Armory.
- Achievement points for perks, tabards and races; see achievements and rewards.
- Codex entries for items you have been offered; see items and the Codex.
Rings, trinkets and spell upgrades from a run do not carry over.
Saves
Progress is stored in your browser on wow.aethus.pl. There is no sign-in. The game keeps a backup for each hour you play (the last five), and Options → Saves → Export Save writes a file you can import elsewhere. Read back up your save before clearing browser data, and moving to another computer to switch PCs.
Playing with friends
Yes, it has online co-op. Play with friends lists public lobbies of the same version, or you host one and share its code. A downed player is revived by a friend standing next to them. Every player needs the chosen zone and difficulty open with their class. See the co-op guide.
